"A must-read for every American. In compelling and heart-healing stories, Philipps tells the story of the other war -- the one at home"
- Tom Brokaw
The 4th Brigade Combat Team came home from two tours in Iraq with more than 100 soldiers killed in action and 500 wounded. It was just the beginning of their battles. After a year home, nine soldiers from the hard hit unit had been arrested for senseless, gruesome, and shockingly random murders.
Lethal Warriors uncovers the story of those men, their war, and how they changed the Army.
Lethal Warriors is based on "Casualties of War," a 2009 series in the Colorado Springs Gazette, which was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in local reporting.
David Philipps was born and raised in Colorado Springs, which is the setting for "Lethal Warriors." After graduating from Middlebury College in Vermont he attended Columbia University's graduate school of journalism. He returned to his hometown to write for the Colorado Springs Gazette in 2003.
